 Marketing Medicare Advantage & Medicare Prescription Drug Plans for 2009: The Rules have Changed!
There are many significant changes included in the law and regulations. These changes will affect both how you can market and sell a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Prescription Drug plan and how you will be compensated by the plan. Agents and brokers are charged with knowing how the new law and regulations affect how they do their job. Marketing of the 2009 Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug plans have already started, and the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is just around the corner.
- New Rules prohibit telemarketing and other unsolicited sales contacts.
- New Rules prohibit financial incentives that could encourage agents and brokers to maximize commissions.
- New Rules will insure drug plans and health plans marketing practices reflect the new requirements.
- New Rules will review recordings of enrollment calls to ensure compliance with new regulations; and,
- New Rules will insure that health and drug plans detect, report and respond to agent/broker marketing misrepresentation and other issues.
